"For you created my innermost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." (Psalm 139:13-16)
In the Word (regarding godparents), after the birth of a child, they would take the infant into the house of the Lord to be dedicated before God. In the scripture, these dedications occurred within the first year of life and had to do with acknowledging that this recent birth was a gift from God.
Life Church acknowledges that family members of our church have received a special gift from God. Baby dedications allow parents and church family members to join their faith in believing for God's success in the lives of the infants. We do public baby dedications on Sunday mornings during our celebration services.
